EXPLOSIVE INTERVIEW: IN RESPECT TO NONSO OKAFOR, OBI OF NNEWICHI IS SPEAKING FOR HIMSELF, NOT FOR NNEWICHI – NCHEDO OBOR

Since the victory of Nonso Smart at the State House of Assembly election, controversies have been emanating from the camp of some Nnewichi Stake Holders.

Anaedonline.com reporters have been trailing these stakeholders to find out their stand on Nonso Smart’s Victory, having a chat with some of them have proved abortive so far, probably because of their busy schedules.

So far, we have been able to get Obi George Onyekaba (Obi of Nnewichi ) and Mr Benneth Ngonadi to give us their own reaction to Nonso Okafor’s victory at the polls which we have published on anaedoonline.ng, after many trials , we eventually got Mr. Nchedo Obor who happens to be a stakeholder in Nnewichi to speak to us.
Mr. Nchedo Obor invited us to his office at Nkwo Nnewi for this exclusive interview . We didn’t waste a second before honoring his invitation

Mr. Nchedo Obor, a serious looking man who appears to be a man in his early 50s ushered us into his office at Nkwo Nnewi. He is Former NASPA Chairman and a top political stakeholder in Nnewi Political Environment .
He didn’t waste time before asking us to define our mission which we did. We could sense him relax after hearing our answer.

Below is our interview with Mr. Nchedo, we tried to quote him word for word as much as possible.

ANAEDOONLINE: “We want to ask you some questions sir”
NCHEDO OBOR (after throwing a casual glance at our recorder):” Yes, go on”

ANAEDOONLINE: “Nonso Okafor (SMART) and his team of supporters went to the palace of Obi of Nnewichi to pay homage to him after his victory at the just concluded election, unfortunately, Obi of Nnewichi rejected him on the basis that he never gave him his support him from the onset, therefore he can’t accept his homage visit . What is your Comment to this development sir ?”

NCHEDO OBOR : “I wouldn’t know what informed Obi George Onyekaba’s action. What I know is that Nonso Okafor won the State House of Assembly Election, therefore, he, Nonso is not serving Obi George Onyekaba but the entire Nnewi including Nnewichi Community.”

Mr. Ncehdo Obor paused, like someone who was weighing the words he was about to say*

NCHEDO OBOR : “The throne is for Nnewichi and not for Obi George Onyekaba, so whoever comes to the palace, must be welcomed by him irrespective of the person’s political affiliations. Obi of Nnewichi is the Father of All, everybody should be his friend.”
“He is free to take his personal decision as George Onyebaka, but as Obi George Onyekaba, the Obi of Nnewichi, he must welcome anyone that pays a visit to his palace. well, like I said I don’t know the reason why he acted that way.”

ANAEDOONLINE: “We paid him a visit to find out the reasons for his rejection of Nonso Okafor’s Homage Visit, his response was that he rejected Nonso Okafor because he never endorsed his candidature from the onset .”

Mr. Nchedo Obor looked up sharply, he seemed animated at this point

NCHEDO OBOR: ” Obi Nnewichi is not his personal property. He can take a decision on his own as George Onyekaba, however, what he cannot do is to take a decision that collectively affects Nnewichi on his own. ”

NCHEDO OBOR CONTINUED
“Abubor, Oduda, Obiofia, and Ezeobuo must be involved in such decisions. Whatever decision he takes without involving these quarters, is only binding on him as George Onyekaba, not as Obi of Nnewichi ”
“Does it mean that if Nonso Okafor brings a project that will benefit Nnewichi to Obi George Onyekaba he will reject it? ”

NCHEDO OBOR : “What Obi Of Nnewichi is indirectly saying by his action is that Nnewichi does not need the present government.”
On that note, I declare that I, Nchedo Obor is not part and parcel of Obi George Onyekaba’s decision, People of Obiofia and Nnewichi, in General, are not part of that decision.
