2023: Ex-BOT Chairman, Walid Jibrin Gets Fresh PDP Appointment

Senator Walid Jibrin, who served as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Board of Trustees’ (BoT) immediate past chairman, has been chosen to lead the party’s Nasarawa presidential campaign council.

Jibrin thanked the party leadership in Nasarawa State for considering him deserving of such an honorable position in a statement following the appointment on Friday.

He asserts that he has never left the party since its founding in 1998 and that he will use his extensive knowledge and experience to help the PDP and Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, win.

In spite of his resignation as the party’s BOT Chairman, he continued, he is still a life member of the BOT.


Jibrin reiterated his commitment to the emergence of Atiku as the next President of Nigeria and urged all party stakeholders to also contribute their respective quotas.

According to him: “I started strongly with the party ensuring that I never leave the party for a second to any other party since 1998 to date. I have been a true party man right from the unit, ward, local Government zone and state where I served as party leader.

“I also served as National Officio member National Working Committee member, Deputy National Financial Secretary, National Financial Secretary member NWC. BoT member, Acting BoT Secretary, confirmed BoT Secretary, Acting BoT National Chairman, and finally BoT Chairman the conscience of the party. I have been working with all organs of the party and I will continue contributing based on my enormous experience throughout in this PDP and will continue until Atiku becomes the President of Nigeria in 2023.

“I hereby urge all PDP members and all Nigerians to come out en mass and vote for Atiku. I want to assure you all that despite my resignation as BoT Chairman I still remain as life member of BoT.”
