The youths of the Edoji community were led by the chairman of the community, Hon. Anayo Atuchukwu; the Obi of Edoji community, Chief Godwin Ndubuizu; the PRO of the community, Mr Nchedo Udemezue; President of Edoji Youths, Mr Emeka Nwaora; among others.

The palliative work was also extended to the road leading to Obiofia from Akwu Egbo Junction.

The Obi of the community, Chief Godwin Ndubuizu, who spoke with Anaedoonline at one of the sites of work said that the roads have been in very bad shape; adding that more damage was done to the roads during the rainy season.

He said, “Edoji people find it difficult to enter or leave the community using their vehicles since the Ugaedo Road is the only easy entrance to the community. Due to the bad road, businessmen trek to markets from their houses on daily basis. Schools children also find it difficult going to school because they have to trek through Nnewichi to go to their various schools, because, even cyclists cannot operate on such dilapidated road.”

Comr Izuchukwu Nkwogbo, who is the Financial Secretary of Edoji Community Development Union, said the palliative work was a self-help project from the community without government support.

“The community is pleading with the state government to come to our aid and complete the road because the stone fill is just a temporary solution, which we are able to proffer now due to the limited resources available to the community,” he added.
