Socio-Political Organisation Pledges To Negotiate Better For Ndigbo

A socio-political organisation in the South- East, Ndi-Igbo United Forum World Wide, has said it will adopt dialogue and consultation in negotiating a better deal for Ndigbo.

The organization made this known in Enugu at its maiden meeting which was attended by members from the five Eastern states and two Southern States which include Rivers and Delta.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, National Acting President, Chief Godson Ezenagu said the forum which was founded four years ago is committed to protecting the welfare and political interest of Ndigbo.

Mr. Ezenagu said the forum will work with the government at all levels to ensure peace and unity in the country.

”In Nigeria today, the Igbos are nowhere to be found. We need this structure to be able to negotiate Ndigbo back to the mainstream, to protect and sustaining Ndigbo welfare. We are committed to unifying Ndigbo worldwide under the forum to ensure peaceful coexistence between Ndigbo”

Speaking further, he said, ”this forum will be non-confrontational, we will not fight with anybody, and we will have no adversaries.

”’Every association will be our partners in progress”.

“We will also partner other sister organisations in other tribes, and we will be non-violent in every approach of ours. We are committed to healing every wound in Igbo land through dialogue and consultation”.

Also, the chairman, board of trustees, Chief Chinedu Mba said the forum would be at the forefront of advocacy for Igbo cause by partnering with other social-political organisations across the country.

He said lack of unity of purpose has deprived Ndigbo their pride of place in Nigeria project.
“We are here because of Igbo cause. In Igbo nation today, you can see, we lack unity and by God’s Grace Ndi- Igbo United Forum has decided to unite Ndigbo worldwide and today we have decided to preach unity and peace to all Igbos and other tribes in Nigeria”.

The national acting woman leader, Chinelo Ogbeta- Ejoor charged women to contribute their quota to the growth and unity of the country.
