Nigerian Police and the DSS woke up this morning and locked up the Federal High Court Hqrts in Abuja because of Nnamdi Kanu’s case. Nigerian Lawyers have engaged them in a fight and it has gotten physical. If you still think this is a democracy, you’re living in a bubble.

How can the Executive arm of govt dictate the activities of the judiciary? When did we become this terrible? I won’t say I didn’t see this coming. We raised alarm when they broke into the homes of judges, you ppl said they were fighting corruption. Now see!

I’m almost certain that one day, these power-drunk security agberos will physically assault a judge for daring to sit against their order or delivering judgement in favour of their opponent. They’re moving mad and Nigerians are watching them get away with it.

The Nigerian Bar Association must do something about this increasing madness by the Executive arm of the Federal Govt. The Bar must arise and save whatever is left of the legal profession. These ppl will run us out of business bcos why hire a lawyer who can’t go to court?

These guys don’t believe in the judicial process. They just want court orders to sprinkle legitimacy on their numerous illegal detentions. If you’ve the powers to lock a court then, you definitely don’t even need that court to secure a conviction. Just keep MNK in your custody.

The Federal Govt sees itself as ‘almighty’. You’re a party before a court, yet, you dictate how and when the court should sit. Have you not by so doing breached the principle of fair hearing which demands that a court be independent & afford parties equality of arms?

Tell me how a court will not convict MNK (even if he weren’t guilty) if his accuser has the powers to lock and unlock the court? This Executive arm of govt doesn’t care about separation of power. They don’t believe in democracy. How on earth did we end up in this hot mess???!

I can’t believe that the first set of lawyers that got to court this morning stood there watching helplessly, cos, it must be ment for me to pay Bar Practicing Fees and watch a police officer lock me out of court.
