In a commendable display of bravery and swift action, the troops of the 103 Battalion (Rear), 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, currently engaged in Operation UDO KA II, successfully rescued a kidnapped victim in Enugu State. Dr. Maxwell Ayim, who had been abducted, was rescued safely and unharmed during the operation.
The rescue operation took place in the vicinity of Four Corner-Agbogwe Junction in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State. According to Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 82 Division, Nigerian Army, the troops acted swiftly in response to a distress call from the local police.
Upon receiving the distress call, the troops immediately proceeded to the scene, where they encountered the kidnappers. The superior firepower of the soldiers forced the criminals to flee, leaving behind Dr. Maxwell Ayim, who had been abandoned by the gang. It is believed that some of the kidnappers sustained gunshot wounds during the confrontation.

Following his rescue, Dr. Ayim underwent preliminary medical checks to ensure his well-being. He has since been reunited with his family, who expressed their relief and gratitude for his safe return.

This cooperative effort from the community plays a crucial role in curbing kidnapping activities and other forms of criminality in the region.
